For calling out Pinoy fans supporting Thai stars in the recent Star Magic All-Star Games 2026, Fyang Smith found herself at the center of heckling.

For cheering loudly for Thai stars, Smith, seemingly exasperated, shouted at them: ‘Ang kakapal ng mukha nyo (You all have a lot of nerve)!’

During an interview, Fyang and JM Ibarra were asked to greet the audience but the former initially refuse and said: “Ayoko! Sa ibang bansa nagtsi-cheer ang mga yan! (I don’t want to. They were cheering for other countries).”

Smiling, Ibarra asked her to greet the audience, which she did. After which she looked at the crowd and shouted: “Ang kakapal ng mukha nyo!”

JMFyang received the All-Star Games Fan Fave Duo award. Smith said she was worried about Ibarra as his foot had swollen. And when she was speaking, some spectators started booing her, thus, she shouted: “Ang ingay nyo! Teka lang! Ano ba kayo? Grabe kayo! Hindi n’yo man lang tsini-cheer ang bansa natin! (You’re noisy. Just wait! What are you? You’re terrible. You’re not even cheering for our country).”

How remittances helped Kim Chiu’s brother graduate in Canada

Kim Chiu says remittances played a great part in helping her brother in Canada graduate from her studies.

“World Remit is very close to my heart because I have a younger brother who studied in Canada. I was able to make him graduate. I sent him money,” Chiu said. The It’s Showtime host is the Official Brand Ambassador of WorldRemit, a digital global payments and international money transfer.

“He’s a graduate now and will soon to be a commercial pilot,” she added.

Remittances, Chiu stressed, is not just sending money.

“It’s about connection, love, support and security. It’s because if you’re sending money, it has a story behind it. It could be for tuition, grocery or emergency,” she explained.

Chiu revealed that the family dynamic of helping is why she became the breadwinner in the family.

“I was the one who is blessed so I will be the one helping now. It’s like an instant character among Filipinos that we help our family. That’s what happened in my situation. I became a breadwinner without them asking me to be one,” she said.

“It’s like I’m blessed and what will I make of those work and opportunity if I don’t share it,” she added.

Elijah Canlas, Emilio Daez and JM Ibarra in barkada road-trip film

Elijah Canlas, Emilio Daez, and JM Ibarra headline Regal Entertainment’s upcoming comedy-drama One For The Road, a barkada road-trip film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kip Oebanda.

Three of the most promising and capable actors of their generation, Canlas, Daez and Ibarra bring their own distinct personalities and acting strengths to the film, portraying three friends whose lives are changed by an unexpected journey together.

The film follows four friends who escape the pressures of their working-class lives and embark on a road trip filled with hilarious adventures, unexpected conflicts, and unforgettable moments. Beneath the comedy is a touching story about friendship, grief, mental health, and the challenges of growing into adulthood.

JM Ibarra plays Garry, a fun-loving barista who often uses humor to hide his frustrations. Elijah Canlas portrays Ariel, a rising actor trapped in a showbiz love team who sees the road trip as a chance to experience freedom away from the spotlight. Emilio Daez takes on the role of Luke, an academic achiever and bank employee who struggles to deal with emotions he cannot simply solve through logic. The fourth member of the barkada, Jomar, has yet to be cast.

Oebanda, known for Bar Boys, Balota, and Liway, co-wrote the screenplay with Victor Villanueva of Patay na si Hesus.

More than a road-trip comedy, One For The Road celebrates the friendships that become family—and the people who stay with us through life’s mistakes, struggles, and unexpected turns.
