A seemingly casual dinner gathering involving Claudine Barretto and Veronica “Kitty” Duterte has stirred conversation on social media after the award-winning actress shared their photos together.
Claudine posted a short video featuring moments from the gathering with Kitty, the youngest daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, and several friends. One of the photos showed the actress warmly embracing Kitty.
“With my pretty little baby sister @veronicaduterte thank u for dinner my love,” Claudine wrote in her caption.
The affectionate post quickly attracted attention, with reactions ranging from admiration for the two women to comments connecting the actress with the Duterte family.
Some social media users welcomed the apparent friendship and complimented the pair, while others expressed surprise over seeing them together. There were also remarks referencing Claudine’s sister Gretchen Barretto and her previously reported support for the former president.
Not all reactions were positive, however, as the post also drew criticism and politically charged comments from some users.
Despite the divided response, Claudine did not elaborate on politics in her post. Her message instead centered on her fondness for Kitty and appreciation for their time together.
The viral exchange once again showed how even a personal celebrity post can quickly become part of a wider online conversation, particularly when it involves personalities connected to Philippine politics.
