The family of comedian Ate Gay has strongly condemned the circulation of false reports about his supposed death, clarifying that the beloved entertainer remains alive and continues to fight for his life amid his ongoing health battle.

In an official statement released on October 31, 2026, the family of Gil “Ate Gay” Morales expressed frustration and emotional distress over misleading social media posts and premature messages of condolences that have reached them.

According to the family, they have been receiving messages saying “Rest in Peace” and “Condolences,” despite the comedian still being alive.

“PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT HE IS STILL ALIVE AND CONTINUES TO FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE,” the family emphasized in their statement.

The clarification comes as Ate Gay continues his battle with cancer. His family previously appealed for financial assistance after his hospital expenses reportedly reached P2.4 million while he was receiving treatment at Asian Hospital and Medical Center.

Already facing the emotional and financial challenges of his medical condition, the family said the spread of unverified information has only made their difficult situation even more painful.

“Imagine being in our position. How would you feel if someone sent you condolences while your loved one was still alive and fighting? Our family is already going through an incredibly difficult time, and these messages only add unnecessary pain and emotional distress,” the statement read.

The family also warned individuals and social media pages against deliberately spreading fabricated reports about Ate Gay's condition, stressing that they are prepared to take appropriate action against those responsible.

They urged the public to exercise sensitivity and refrain from making assumptions or sharing information that has not been officially confirmed.

“We will take appropriate action against individuals or pages that continue to create, post, or spread false information, misleading reports, or premature announcements about his passing,” the family declared.

Despite the distress caused by the situation, Ate Gay's loved ones remain hopeful and continue to draw strength from their faith as the comedian battles his illness.

“We know that God knows everything, and we continue to place our faith and trust in His plans. We hope everyone will show the same faith, compassion, and respect for our family,” they shared.

In one of the most emotional portions of their statement, the family reminded the public that spreading false death reports can rob patients and their loved ones of the hope they desperately need during difficult times.

“Please do not take away someone's hope while they are still fighting. Do not add to a family's suffering by spreading information that is not true.”

The family further appealed to netizens to allow them to speak on behalf of Ate Gay rather than rely on speculation and unverified online reports.

“LET THE FAMILY SPEAK FOR THEIR LOVED ONE. PLEASE RESPECT OUR FAMILY AND THE LIFE THAT IS STILL FIGHTING,” they stressed.

They also encouraged supporters, friends, and members of the entertainment industry to rely exclusively on Ate Gay's official Facebook page for accurate medical updates.

Known for his comedic performances, impersonations, and entertaining musical numbers, Ate Gay has built a following throughout his years in Philippine show business.

As his health battle continues, his family hopes the public will replace speculation with compassion, prayers, and understanding.

For now, their message remains clear: Ate Gay is still alive, still fighting, and still surrounded by loved ones who refuse to give up hope.
