The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is bringing its new interactive play, Gen G: GG na ’to!, to 12 schools from September to December 2026.
Created with Move to Change Foundation, Inc. (M2C), the play focuses on young people, choice, survival, community, and participation. It is part of Project GG: Game Changers for Good Governance, a youth-centered campaign that aims to make civic education more engaging and help young people understand how their participation can shape their communities.
Set in an alternate Philippines submerged in flood waters, Gen G: GG na ’to! follows a group of young people living in temporary communities called “Balangay Gen Zones.” They are left on their own after the adults who were supposed to return do not come back.
The young people must then figure out how to run their community. The audience also gets to participate through votes, choices, and negotiations that help shape what happens in the story.
The play explores questions about who gets heard, who gets left behind, and what communities choose to prioritize.
Gen G: GG na ’to! is directed by Ian Segarra, with J-mee Katanyag and Jhudiel Sosa as playwrights. Kabaitan Bautista serves as musical director, while Julio Garcia is the set and props designer and Johnnie Moran is the costume designer.
The cast includes Lyle Viray, Johnrick Noynay, James Lanante, Camille Fabian, Francheska Andaya, Cb Lagapa, Ada Tayao, and Zoe Damag.
Aside from the performances, Project GG will include interactive experiences, workshops, community conversations, and other activities focused on critical thinking, collaboration, and collective decision-making.
From September to November 2026, the campaign will also hold initiatives on Global Citizenship Education, narrative change, and youth participation with various partner organizations.
