As the countdown begins for the final chapter of her four-decade concert journey, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez has shared the heartfelt emotions behind what promises to be one of the most meaningful performances of her career.
In a candid message posted on social media, the veteran singer admitted she is experiencing a whirlwind of emotions ahead of the second night of her upcoming free “Finale” concert on 18 October.
“Hello guys I’m excited, nervous and anxious… sama-sama at nagkakagulo na ang feelings ko but most importantly, I’m really grateful,” Regine wrote.
More than celebrating her remarkable 40-year career, the concert has become a tribute to the unwavering support of the fans who have stood by her through the decades.
Regine also revealed that the idea for the free concert did not come from her, but from her sister, Cacai Mitra, whom she credited as the driving force behind the project.
“I’m thankful to my sister Cacai kasi siya talaga ang nag-isip nito and actually siya ang producer ng concert na ’to, not me,” she shared.
According to the singer, Cacai worked tirelessly to make the ambitious event possible by reaching out to individuals and organizations willing to help shoulder the production expenses.
“Gusto niya na sa last concert ko makapagpasalamat kami sa inyong lahat. Siya ang naghanap ng mga tutulong sa amin para kahit papaano matulungan kami sa cost.”
Regine acknowledged the financial challenges of mounting a major concert today, noting that production costs continue to rise. Despite that, her team remained committed to staging a free performance as a gesture of gratitude to the fans who have supported her throughout her illustrious career.
She also made a heartfelt appeal to those who have the means to purchase tickets for the first concert date, encouraging them to leave the complimentary finale show to those who have long dreamed of seeing her perform live but could not afford the opportunity.
“Ang pakiusap lang namin, sana sa mga nakakaluwag, ibigay na natin yung free night doon sa mga hindi talaga makabili ng tickets. Para naman sa mga nangangarap mapanood ako live, mabigyan sila ng pagkakataon makita ako.”
Closing her message, Regine once again thanked the public for the love they have shown her over the past 40 years.
“Maraming salamat sa 40 years. Love you guys.”
The free “Finale” concert has been described as Regine’s personal gift to her supporters—a night dedicated not only to music, but also to gratitude, shared memories, and a lasting celebration of the bond she has built with generations of Filipino fans.
