The year 2026 ushers in a slew of celebrities who will never make it, no matter how hard their luck is pushed and no matter how hard they try.

Topping our personal list is Dylan Menor, an acquired talent from Sparkle Artist Management of GMA-7 who was plucked from complete anonymity by TV5.

Easily, Menor is the Kapatid network’s el favorito, as he’s been given the meatiest assignments, like manna from heaven.

From what we know, TV5 bought Menor’s then-existing contract with GMA7 for a whopping P10 million.

How’s that for a singer who can’t seem to sing, a host who can’t seem to host, an actor who can’t seem to act?

How can he be that lucky?

A BS Marketing Management degree holder from San Beda College Alabang, Menor has appeared in several commercials. He’s also appeared in Wish Ko Lang, Dapat Alam Mo, and Maka, his last show with the Kapuso network.

There’s also Andrea Brillantes,
Enrique Gil and Derek Ramsay, who are all poised to make a showbiz comeback on TV5. Not one of them will make it this year, as we believe that they have maximized their full potential while they were still Kapamilya talents. They’re oblivious to the fact that celebrities who bolt out of Kapamilya wings never make it in other networks. Just look at Bea Alonzo, Heart Evangelista, Zephanie, and Billy Crawford, whose stars dimmed after leaving ABS-CBN.

Then there’s Emilio Daez, who initially became famous for his friendly demeanor with Michael Sager while inside the Pinoy Big Brother house for the PBB Celebrity Collab Edition.

Since his eviction from the PBB house, he’s displayed his acting chops in a few shows. But his acting leaves nothing but mediocrity.

Incidentally, not a few press members were turned off by a prank that he is believed to have pulled off on entertainment media during a mediacon for a movie that’s now being screened at the Metro Manila Film Festival.

After the interview, a male staff member from Star Magic distributed ang pao (a red envelope). Of course, all the members of the media were excited to open the red envelope.

To their collective dismay, all they found inside was play money with a photo of Daez on it.

How’s that for a Christmas prank?

The likes of Esnyr Ranollo, Bianca de Vera, Carmella Ford, Inigo Jose, Michelle Garcia, Ice Almeria, the Mitra sisters Ezri, Julia, and Tasha, Joaquin Arce, Christof and Angelina Cruz will never make the cut in their quest for stardom, as all of them, except the first two, were nepo babies.

In the Kapuso fold, there is a plethora of starlets of intergalactic proportion whose stars will definitely not shine because they lack thespic talents and are not given the much-needed boost by management.

Shuvee Etrata is one of those, as her acting in a forgettable series is so bad that you would think she’s just an extra. She is believed to be a poor fourth-class copycat of Melai Cantiveros, as her comic demeanor does not match the spontaneity of Cantiveros’ comedic flair.

A wasted Kapuso talent, Charlie Fleming made her presence felt while inside the PBB house, but nothing solid came after her eviction. The Kapuso network did not cash in on her popularity. Sadly, she’s nothing but a starlet in the starlet-infested network.

And so were Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 housemates Sofia Pablo, Princess Aliyah, Heath Jornales, Marco Masa, Anton Vinzon, Waynona Collins, Caprice Cayetano, Lee Victor, John Clifford and Ashley Sarmiento.
