Veteran actress Alice Dixson has opened up about a defining moment in her showbiz career, admitting that her youthful attitude toward work once caused problems with fellow actress Dina Bonnevie.

During her revealing interview on GMA Network’s Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Alice looked back on her early years in entertainment, when she was more interested in enjoying life than taking her responsibilities as an actress seriously.

The actress, who entered show business at 17, confessed that she initially considered acting a fun activity rather than a profession that demanded discipline and commitment.

“I was already an actress when I was 17 and I did it because it was fun. I didn’t really treat it as work. So, hindi ko minahal at rinespeto ang trabahong binigay sa akin as a teenager,” Alice admitted.

One of the consequences of her carefree attitude was her habit of arriving late on set, something that reportedly caused tension between her and Dina Bonnevie.

Alice acknowledged that Dina had a valid reason to be upset with her at the time.

“And I was always late. I remember you were showing that clip with Dina Bonnevie… inamin ko na she didn’t like me because I was always late on the set, which was true,” she recalled.

Rather than defending her past behavior, Alice openly accepted responsibility for her shortcomings as a young actress.

She also revealed that her nightlife contributed to her lack of professionalism.

“When I was younger, I was like that. I would always be in the clubs also late at night. In my 20s, I was always dancing. I was always having a good time,” she shared.

Her late-night activities sometimes affected her ability to report for work the following morning.

“Nagpupuyat ako. And then I would say, I’m not feeling well para magtrabaho in the morning,” she confessed.

A second chance that changed everything

The turning point in Alice’s career came when veteran film producer Lily Monteverde, popularly known as Mother Lily, gave her another opportunity in the entertainment industry.

Alice credited that second chance with helping her recognize the importance of her profession and rediscover her passion for acting.

“And then I was given a second chance by Mother Lily. Doon ko na-realize na I really love what I do,” she said.

The experience became an important lesson for the actress, who eventually learned to appreciate the opportunities and responsibilities that came with her career.

What began as a youthful pursuit of fun gradually developed into a serious commitment to her craft.

Looking back, Alice’s willingness to acknowledge her mistakes reflects how much her perspective has changed through the years.

Her revelations also shed light on the challenges of entering show business at a young age, when fame, social activities, and professional obligations can sometimes become difficult to balance.

Today, Alice continues to enjoy a career that has spanned several decades, proving that early mistakes do not have to define an artist’s future.

For the seasoned actress, the second chance given by Mother Lily was more than another acting opportunity. It became a valuable reminder that success in show business requires not only talent and popularity but also respect, dedication, and genuine love for the profession.

And after all these years, Alice Dixson can now look back at that chapter of her life with gratitude, maturity, and a greater appreciation for the career she once took for granted.
