BAGUIO CITY-- After three days of search, the bodies of two young brothers were found in a mountainous area of Tineg, Abra, on 4 September 2026.
The victims, identified by family members as Mark and Octavios, were initially reported missing after failing to return home. Community members and local authorities initiated search efforts following an appeal for help from the boys' cousin on 3 September 2026, nearly three days after their disappearance.
Search teams located the bodies of the brothers on Friday in the mountainous area of Magsalang, located in Barangay Caganayan, Tineg. Authorities have not yet established the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Following the recovery, the family publicly expressed gratitude to community members, barangay residents, and volunteers who assisted in the search across the difficult terrain.
The discovery follows a separate incident in August 2026, when a farmer gathering mushrooms found the decomposing body of an unidentified man in a forested section of Bagalay, Tayum, Abra.
