  • Weeks of challenges, advocacy work, and community immersion will culminate tonight as 33 delegates compete for the Miss Philippines Earth 2026 crown at the Malitbog Cultural Center in Malitbog, Bukidnon. The winner will earn the right to represent the Philippines in the next edition of the Miss Earth pageant.

This year’s competition has taken the candidates beyond the traditional pageant stage. Since arriving in Bukidnon, the delegates have participated in environmental activities, charity visits, cultural immersions, talent showcases, and preliminary competitions designed to highlight not only beauty but also leadership and commitment to sustainability. Their journey has reflected the pageant’s long-standing “Beauties for a Cause” mission, with each contestant promoting environmental awareness while representing her hometown or Filipino community abroad.

Adding intrigue to tonight’s finale is the controversy surrounding reigning queen Joy Barcoma. In the days leading up to the coronation, speculation spread online that the 2025 titleholder would not be given a formal farewell walk or personally crown her successor. Barcoma addressed the rumors by maintaining that she had fulfilled her responsibilities throughout her reign, while the organization has yet to issue an official explanation regarding her role in the program. The issue has become one of the biggest talking points ahead of the live show.

Despite the off-stage discussion, the spotlight remains on the candidates, who have spent weeks proving themselves through preliminary competitions and advocacy initiatives. Several delegates have emerged as strong contenders after consistently performing well in the pageant’s various challenges, making tonight’s outcome one of the most unpredictable in recent years.

Audiences can also expect a production that celebrates both the natural beauty of Bukidnon and the environmental advocacy that has defined Miss Philippines Earth for more than two decades. Aside from the announcement of the new queen and her elemental court, fans will be watching closely to see how the organization addresses the farewell walk issue and whether Barcoma will take part in the symbolic passing of the crown.

By the end of the evening, one candidate’s journey will transform into a national title, beginning a new chapter as the Philippines’ next environmental ambassador.
