More than a display of glamour, the night highlighted conviction, advocacy and global leadership — elements that defined both the winner and the Philippines’ Chelsea Fernandez, who finished as First Runner-Up after a commanding and widely praised performance.

Lindquist emerged on top following a tightly contested final round that narrowed the field of more than 70 candidates to two women with sharply articulated visions. Her win marked a seamless transition of the crown from Indonesia’s Ketut Permata Juliastrid and reinforced Miss Cosmo’s growing stature as an international pageant centered on dialogue, substance, and social relevance.

Standing just a step away from the crown, Fernandez delivered one of the strongest Philippine showings in recent years. From the opening rounds to the final night, she maintained momentum through confident runway work and a composed, elegant stage presence. Her performance in the swimsuit competition reaffirmed her preliminary strength, while her polished poise in formal wear earned her the Best in Evening Gown award. The audience, meanwhile, rallied behind her, granting her the People’s Choice distinction.

Fernandez’s most defining moment came during the Mic Drop segment, where she presented an advocacy rooted in environmental action and community development. Speaking on her Paradise of the Mangroves Reforestation Project, she said:

“The Philippines is home to more than 7,000 beautiful islands. However, with that beauty comes an ugly truth: we faced extreme flooding, harsh calamities, and natural disasters. That is why my advocacy, Paradise of the Mangroves Reforestation Project, aims to address both natural problems and economic problems. And [with] this action plan, we are planning to plant 5,000 propagules in one hectare, and that would be set in the Municipality of Lebak, Province of Sultan Kudarat, Philippines. And I believe in my project, and with this I believe that the economic growth will definitely go up to 20 to 30 percent in just one year. And I hope you continue to support me in this mission because I believe the little seeds that we plant today will grow into a forest of change tomorrow.”

Her answer reframed environmental protection as both a climate response and a pathway to economic upliftment, resonating strongly with the judges and audience alike.

Earlier in the competition, Fernandez also challenged the notion that leadership spaces are not meant for women, asserting that women possess innate leadership qualities that only need opportunity and support to flourish. Miss Cosmo 2025 marked Fernandez’s second time representing the Philippines on an international stage. She previously competed in Miss Globe 2022, where she reached the Top 15 — an experience that clearly contributed to her composure and strategic confidence in Vietnam.
