The Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office 3 (RFO3) held the National Livestock and Poultry Month at the DA Compound, Government Center in Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, on 27 October 2025.
In a belated report by DA RFO3 on 4 November 2025, the event, themed “Makabagong Kasanayan, Lakas ng Paghahayupan para sa Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas,” aimed to equip farmers with new skills to further strengthen the country’s livestock sector.
National Livestock Program Deputy Director Dr. Noverlee P. Calub, Regional Executive Director Dr. Eduardo L. Lapuz Jr., Regional Technical Director for Operations and Extension Arthur D. Dayrit, Ph.D., provincial veterinarians of Region III, and representatives from farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) across Central Luzon attended the event.
Director Calub said that the true development of the livestock sector cannot be measured by the number of products or technologies used but by the livelihood it provides to the masses.
As part of the celebration, the DA distributed projects worth P23 million to various FCAs in the region, including:
Nagsingkong Kawayang Kiling-Batilao Integrated Farmers Association (Limay, Bataan) – P2,975,000 (Animal Hauling Truck)

Director Lapuz noted that the animal hauling trucks are dual-purpose, as requested by farmers, allowing them to transport both livestock and agricultural produce such as rice and vegetables.
Director Dayrit said the celebration demonstrates that collaboration between the government and the livestock sector is essential to achieving a “Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas” where all farmers have the capacity to succeed in the modern era of agriculture.
