The stars aligned for Philippine entertainment’s brightest as the 8th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards — popularly known as The EDDYs — lit up the Grand Ballroom in a night filled with triumph, tributes, and cinematic excellence.
Organized by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), this year’s ceremony celebrated both blockbuster success and artistic innovation, with Kapuso artists Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo emerging as the evening’s biggest acting winners.
Rivera was crowned Best Actress for her gripping performance in Balota, while Trillo earned Best Actor honors for his emotionally charged portrayal in Green Bones — a film that dominated the awards circuit with four major wins, including Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and Best Supporting Actor for Ruru Madrid (tied with Aga Muhlach for Uninvited). Acclaimed director Zig Dulay also won Best Director for the film, cementing Green Bones as a standout of 2024. Lorna Tolentino won Best Supporting Actress for Espantaho.
The night also celebrated box office royalty. Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards (Hello, Love, Again), Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia (Un/Happy for You), and Vice Ganda (And The Breadwinner Is…) received Box Office Hero Awards for their commercial hits.

Best Production Design: The Kingdom
Best Musical Score: Vincent de Jesus for Isang Himala
Best Sound: Topakk
Best Editing and Best Original Theme Song: My Future You
