Troops from the Philippine Army and the United States (US) Army Pacific conducted air assault drills during Salaknib Phase 2 at Camp Melchor Dela Cruz in Upi, Gamu, Isabela.
In a statement Friday, Army spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala said the exercise showcases the combined capabilities of the Philippine Army and US Army Pacific in executing complex military operations.
On 17 June, participating troops utilized UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters in an air assault exercise simulating a rapid deployment scenario.
“It can be noted that the annual Salaknib Exercise supports the Philippine Army’s strategic thrust to develop an agile force capable of swift deployment across diverse operational scenarios,” Dema-ala said.
