BCDA secures fuel pipeline deals with Chevron, Shell, Petron

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and its subsidiary, Poro Point Management Corp. (PPMC), have renewed lease agreements with Chevron, Shell and Petron to sustain fuel pipeline operations at the San Fernando International Seaport.
The agreements secure the continued presence of the three major energy companies at Poro Point, a key logistics hub for fuel distribution, essential commodities and commercial trade in Northern Luzon.
BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang said maintaining a transparent and well-managed port environment is crucial to sustaining operations, attracting investments and promoting long-term economic growth in La Union.
PPMC President and CEO Servillano Flores Jr. said the lease renewals reinforce the agency's commitment to efficient operations within the Poro Point Freeport Zone while strengthening the port's role in regional trade and development.
Representatives of the three energy companies welcomed the agreements, citing their importance in maintaining reliable fuel distribution.
Chevron's Mario Serranillo, manager for field operations, lubricants and international terminals, reaffirmed the company's commitment to safe and dependable operations at the port.
Petron Vice President for Procurement Jacqueline Ang noted that the company's presence at Poro Point dates back to the 1960s. She expressed optimism about expanding its partnership with the BCDA Group to meet the fuel requirements of industries and consumers.
Shell Contracts and Maintenance Manager Paulo Ocampo said the renewed agreement would help maintain fuel supply stability in La Union and other parts of Northern Luzon, which remain key markets for the company.
The agreements were signed by Flores alongside Serranillo, Ang and Ocampo.
BCDA said the continued operations of the three companies are expected to preserve local jobs, support industrial expansion and strengthen fuel supply chains across Northern Luzon.
