RESCUE teams conduct operations after an Elf vehicle carrying around 27 passengers fell an estimated 50 to 100 meters down a slope along the Talubin-Barlig Road in Sitio Jakap, Talubin, Bontoc, on Tuesday.

BONTOC, Mountain Province — Seven passengers were rushed to the hospital while others remained missing after the truck they were riding in plunged down a slope along the Talubin-Barlig road in Sitio Jakap, Barangay Talubin, here on 15 September.
The Elf truck, reportedly carrying 27 passengers, went off the road at around 12:40 p.m. and plummeted between 50 and 100 meters down the steep slope, according to authorities.
Responders rushed to the scene after the incident was reported to the Bontoc Emergency Operations Center.
The vehicle was reportedly traveling from Isabela via the Paracelis road and was headed for Bakun, Benguet.
Rescue teams from various government agencies and nearby municipalities were immediately deployed to the area to conduct search and extraction operations.
Seven passengers were rescued and brought to the Bontoc General Hospital for emergency treatment and medical assessment.
