Kendra Kramer has come to the defense of her parents, Doug and Chesca Kramer, amid renewed scrutiny online over their decision to raise their children in the public eye.
The 17-year-old eldest daughter of the celebrity couple pushed back against claims that she and her siblings were being pushed into show business or used for social media and commercial opportunities.
Kendra said pursuing modeling and other opportunities was her own choice, adding that her parents have consistently made sure she was comfortable with the path she wanted to take.
“My parents have spoken to me before and asked if I truly wanted to be in the show business world. They asked if it was something I wanted. And I said yes. Wholeheartedly, I love modeling and I love doing it with my family,” she said.
She also rejected suggestions that Doug and Chesca are overly controlling, noting that she continues to have time for sports, friends and activities outside the entertainment industry.
“My parents have never ever taken advantage of me. I have my own social life—with my sports and with my friends. They are NOT controlling parents, only caring ones who want the best for me and my siblings,” Kendra wrote.
Kendra also addressed comments about her father frequently accompanying her to engagements. She said she is the one who asks Doug to come with her, explaining that having a parent nearby makes her feel secure, particularly because she is still a minor and considers herself an introvert.
Beyond defending her parents’ approach to raising their children, Kendra also spoke warmly about Doug and Chesca’s relationship and the example they have set for their family.
“My parents are my role models in my life. They are the happiest, most loving couple I know. I pray one day I may find a relationship like theirs,” she said.
She admitted that seeing harsh comments directed at her family has been painful, particularly when the criticism involves the people closest to her.
“It hurts me to see the people I love getting spoken about like this online. My parents are the greatest people I know and I love my family to the bottom of my heart,” she added.
Meanwhile, Chesca addressed questions about the money their children earn from endorsements and other projects. She said their children’s earnings are protected through investments, insurance and their respective accounts.
According to Chesca, Kendra now manages her own earnings, while she and Doug mainly provide guidance on responsible financial decisions.
“Now that Kendra is 17, she handles her own money; payments go straight to her, she has her own receipts, and we simply guide and remind her to invest wisely. We don’t handle her money,” Chesca said.
Doug, meanwhile, responded to another controversy involving previous remarks he made about remaining faithful despite facing temptation. He said portions of his comments had been taken out of context and used to fuel criticism against him.
He maintained that acknowledging temptation is different from acting on it, emphasizing that commitment means repeatedly choosing one’s spouse and family while keeping faith at the center of their home.
With Kendra joining her parents in addressing the controversies, the family has presented a united front against the narratives circulating online. For Kendra, however, the issue is deeply personal: beyond their public image as Team Kramer, she sees Doug and Chesca first and foremost as the parents she loves and trusts.
