  • Angelica Lopez of Palawan did more than impress with her poise on the Reina Filipinas stage. When it mattered most, she delivered an answer that reflected the kind of queen she hoped to become—and ultimately helped propel her to the Reina Filipinas Grand International 2026 crown.

During the question-and-answer round, Lopez was asked how Reina Filipinas could distinguish itself in a country already home to numerous beauty pageants.

“There are undeniably so many pageants already. What space do you hope Reina Filipinas will occupy?” the question went.

Instead of focusing on competition among pageant organizations, Lopez highlighted the opportunities Reina Filipinas could create for women beyond the crown.

“I understand that every pageant serves a purpose, and so does Reina Filipinas,” Lopez began.

She pointed to the organization’s emphasis on business and personal development, saying it could provide women with opportunities to acquire skills and build confidence that they can carry into different fields.

“Here, they do business, which gives women the opportunity to learn new skills, become more empowered, and elevate themselves, whether it be in sports, entertainment, or business,” she said.

For Lopez, the pageant can become a platform where empowerment translates into opportunities and where both the women and the organization can grow together.

“It’s actually a good and empowering platform and a win-win situation for all, so that both can move ahead toward the direction of progress, development, and productivity,” she concluded.

The answer captured a vision of pageantry that extends beyond beauty, competition and titles. Lopez presented Reina Filipinas as a space where women can prepare themselves for opportunities long after they leave the stage.

Her response became one of the defining moments of the inaugural competition, helping Lopez emerge victorious and earn the honor of becoming Reina Filipinas Grand International 2026.

For the Palawan beauty queen, the winning moment showed that a crown can represent more than achievement—it can also carry a commitment to purpose, progress and women’s empowerment.
