A recent meeting between Dingdong Dantes and Coco Martin may soon lead to something bigger than fans initially expected, with the Kapuso star revealing that the Batang Quiapo lead actor is quietly preparing an initiative that could have a lasting impact on the Philippine entertainment industry.

The two leading men, who headline rival primetime programs, recently sparked online buzz after they were photographed together during a gathering of the League of Filipino Actors (AKTOR). While many speculated about a possible collaboration, Dingdong explained that the discussion centered on a project that Coco himself is spearheading.

Although already aware of the details, Dingdong said he prefers to leave the announcement to Coco.

“Gusto ko man mag-share ng details pero ayoko muna i-spoil ang details dahil magkakaroon siya ng separate announcement. Excited na ako maibahagi ’yun very soon, pero for now pinag-uusapan na namin ang detalye at nasa planning stage, at gusto ko siya ang mag-announce.” Dingdong said in an event for Marstek Power Station Philippines 

The actor also hinted that he could eventually take part in the initiative, while emphasizing that the concept was born from Coco’s vision and passion for the industry.

“Baka… siguro. Pero inaayos namin. Ang idea na ’to ay nanggaling sa kanya, at bilib na bilib talaga ako sa kanyang dedication at sa kanyang utak sa mga ganitong bagay na para talaga sa industriya. Ramdam na ramdam mo talaga ang kanyang pagmamahal at dedikasyon.”

Beyond the AKTOR project, Dingdong was also asked about the possibility of crossing paths with Coco on television through their respective primetime dramas, The Master Cutter and Sigabo.

While he stopped short of confirming any discussions, he admitted that the idea has plenty of appeal.

“Why not? Why not? Pero hindi ko masasagot pa ’yun sa ngayon, pero napakagandang idea niyan.”

For now, Dingdong is keeping the details under wraps, leaving fans to await Coco’s official reveal of what could become one of the entertainment industry’s most talked-about initiatives.
