CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Top destinations across Central Luzon have earned coveted nominations in the 2026 World Travel Awards (WTA), putting the region’s natural beauty and cultural heritage in the global spotlight.

The Province of Aurora is shortlisted for Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination, competing against Erawan National Park (Thailand), Fewa Lake (Nepal), Inle Lake (Myanmar), and Moc Chau (Vietnam).

The City of San Fernando, Pampanga is nominated for Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination, alongside Beijing (China), Delhi (India), Hue (Vietnam), Kyoto (Japan), and Seoul (South Korea). Clark and Subic Bay are also vying for recognition in other categories, per the Department of Tourism Region 3.

Per WTA rules, voting closes at midnight UK time on 7 August. Users must register and verify an account to vote; industry professionals may submit credentials so their votes count double.

The DOT Regional Office 3 urged Filipinos to cast their votes and support Central Luzon’s bid to put the region on the global tourism map.
