Pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have reportedly said “I do.”

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, multiple sources claimed that the celebrity couple is already legally married ahead of a lavish wedding celebration rumored to take place at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

The outlet reported that Swift and Kelce quietly exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony attended by a small group of loved ones before their larger celebration. While neither has publicly confirmed the marriage, the reported private ceremony has only intensified speculation surrounding the highly anticipated event at the iconic arena.

Rumors of a Madison Square Garden wedding celebration have dominated the headlines in recent days. Preparations at the venue, including extensive decorations, heightened security and street closures, have fueled speculation that the couple will host a star-studded reception there. Reports also claimed the venue had been transformed into a lavish “Garden Party”-themed celebration expected to welcome around 1,000 guests under a strict no-phone policy.

Page Six further reported that celebrities including Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper were spotted heading to Madison Square Garden for the rehearsal dinner, while music legends Stevie Nicks and Kenny Chesney were rumored to perform during the festivities. Other A-list names, including Ed Sheeran and Paul McCartney, have also been linked to the guest list, although none of the reported attendees has confirmed their participation.

The reported wedding caps off a whirlwind romance that began in July 2023, when Kelce revealed on his New Heights podcast that he had unsuccessfully tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number during her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City. Swift later revealed that his bold gesture caught her attention, and the pair quietly began seeing each other before making headlines in September 2023 when the singer attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game. 

The pair later stepped out for a post-game dinner, fueling romance rumors. Kelce acknowledged Swift’s appearance during the 27 September episode of New Heights, praising her for coming to the game and sharing how warmly she had been received by his family and friends.

As public interest in the relationship grew, TMZ reported in October 2023 that Kelce had purchased a $6-million home, reportedly offering the couple greater privacy and security. The following month, he traveled to Argentina to support Swift during the international leg of the Eras Tour. During one of her concerts, Swift delighted fans by changing the lyrics of “Karma” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs,” a nod to the NFL star.

Swift later offered rare insight into the early days of their romance during her interview as TIME magazine’s 2023 Person of the Year. She clarified that by the time she attended her first Chiefs game, they were already a couple, dispelling the widespread belief that the outing had been their first date. “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” she joked.

The couple continued to support each other throughout 2024. After the Chiefs captured the AFC Championship in January, Swift joined Kelce on the field, where they celebrated with a kiss. 

Kelce returned the gesture by flying to Australia in February and later to Paris in May to watch Swift perform on the Eras Tour. On 23 June, he surprised concertgoers by joining Swift onstage during the transition for “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart,” marking one of their most memorable public appearances together.

Their mutual support remained evident in 2025. Swift attended the Grammy Awards in February wearing a Vivienne Westwood mini dress accessorized with a “T” body chain, a detail many fans interpreted as a tribute to Kelce. Days later, she was in the stands cheering him on at the Super Bowl.

In August 2025, Swift made her long-awaited appearance on the New Heights podcast, where she spoke about her relationship with Kelce and reflected on finally regaining ownership of her master recordings. Less than two weeks later, on 26 August, the couple announced their engagement on social media after two years of dating. Swift shared the news with the playful caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” alongside photos of Kelce’s romantic garden proposal and her dazzling 8-carat Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond ring.
