Ellen Adarna is done letting perceptions speak louder than numbers. She recently took to Instagram to address claims that her ex, Derek Ramsay, fully supports their daughter Lili, calling the narrative “delusional” and spelling out the reality behind their finances.
The post came after a video clip circulated online showing Ellen, Derek, and Lili, with a voice-over from entertainment reporter Cristy Fermin suggesting that Derek and his mother were covering the family’s household staff and Lili’s expenses. Ellen’s response was immediate, precise, and pointed.
“Credit should always be given where it is due,” she said, before detailing her perspective. “Last month, I told his [assistant], 'No sustento, no Lili. That's simple.' I am not demanding anything beyond what is fair, but I will not allow a father to live comfortably just cooling his balls while contributing little to nothing for his child, just because he gets to see her every day.”
She explained that Derek only provided a credit card with a Php50,000 limit after being prompted to support Lili, which covers only 55.80 percent of her total expenses. Ellen also clarified that neither Derek nor his mother paid for her staff, which includes five nannies, two assigned to Lili.
“I paid for my own groceries. They did not provide a house for me—I did that myself. Let's not rewrite history. So please, let's stop being delusional and stop branding someone a 'good provider' when the numbers and reality say otherwise,” she wrote.
Ellen framed her message around the idea that a good provider gives willingly, proactively, and without needing to be reminded. “He takes initiative. He doesn't rely on words, flexing, or public image,” she emphasized.
