Papa Jackson (John Gemperle in real life and also known as Papa Jack at Love Radio before) created a stir on radio when he publicly announced his departure from 106.7 Energy FM last 24 January where he served not only as a radio disc jockey but also station manager.

Papa Jackson sealed his resignation from the said station with a photo of himself while inside the radio boot.

“I gave it my all. It was almost spiritual. It was a journey I can look back to and always be proud of. Thank you, all!” he wrote in his caption.

A reliable radio insider hissed to us exclusively that Papa Jackson was already given the “make up or ship out” order during the last quarter of last year.

This, after his supposed failure to bring the much-needed revenue to the station as a station manager for about nine years.

Before working as radio jock and station manager at Energy FM, Papa Jackson was already a successful DJ at Love Radio where he is popularly known as Papa Jack, giving romantic advice to listeners who are facing all sorts of problems on love, infidelity and betrayals.

Nine years ago, Papa Jack left Love Radio as he thought moving to Energy FM was a more lucrative choice.

Now, our source hissed to us that DJ Chacha is encouraging Papa Jack to join their radio station.

For now, Papa Jack is hosting a vlog where he is doing his best — giving advice to brokenhearted listeners.

War of the roses?

Are starlets Mika Salamanca and Bianca de Vera feuding?

A fan noticed how the two behaved during a recent presscon of a thriller series which had former Pinoy Big Brother housemates in the cast.

“Anong nangyari kay Mika at Bianca? Super close sila sa BNK as in, tapos kanina sa presscon halos hindi sila magpansinan, umiyak si Mika sa presscon kanina, expected ko na ico-comfort s’ya ni Bianca pero hindi parang tinalikuran lang niya si Mika (What happened to Mika and Bianca? They were super close in NNL as in, then at the presscon they almost did not glance at each other, Mika cried during the presscon, was expecting Bianca would comfort her, but not, she just turned her back on Mika)," one fan observed.

We think Will Ashley’s closeness to Salamanca has something to do with De Vera’s demeanor. She was slighted upon learning that Ashley was making ligaw to Salamanca.

‘Call Me Mother’ rakes in P392 million

Moviegoers experienced the mothering energy from Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre as their 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) box-office hit Call Me Mother officially recorded P392 million in worldwide gross as of 5 February.

“Thank you direk Jun Lana dahil naparanas mo sa akin ang isang bagong pangyayari sa buhay ko (because you made me experience something new in my life). Dream role ko ‘to. I am also so thankful to Nadine Lustre,” said Vice during the movie’s thanksgiving dinner held on 5 February.

Direk Jun also thanked the team behind the movie, which is produced by Star Cinema, The IdeaFirst Company and Viva Films.

Call Me Mother is still showing in select cinemas in Canada, Singapore and Australia.

In the movie, Vice plays a queer mother to her adoptive son, Angelo (Lucas). Their unbreakable bond is put to the test when Mara (Nadine), Angelo’s biological mother, enters their lives and attempts to get custody of her child.
