Ruffa Gutierrez marked a memorable milestone on Facebook as she reflected on the defining moment that cemented her legacy in pageant history. In a sentimental throwback post, she revisited her unforgettable Miss World 1993 journey—one that secured her place among the Philippines’ most iconic beauty queens.

She recalled the pride of carrying the Philippine flag on the global stage. “What a journey it has been! 32 years ago on 27 November 1993, I proudly represented the Philippines at the Miss World Beauty Pageant in Sun City, South Africa, where I was honored to be named Asia’s Queen of Beauty and 2nd Runner-Up. Back then, no phones or social media—just memories etched in my heart forever.”

Her message was not only filled with nostalgia but inspiration. Ruffa spoke about the people who have been part of her life through triumphs, transitions, and reinvention. “To all who have walked this path with me, thank you! Three decades later, I’m still pursuing my passions while also taking on the exciting challenge of grad school for my Master’s in Communication Arts at Philippine Women’s University. Age is just a number! Let’s keep reaching for our dreams. Here’s to the next chapter!”

She also expressed heartfelt thanks to Filipinos who have supported her from her pageant days to her current career. “Marami pong salamat sa lahat ng nagmamahal. Mabuhay tayong mga Pilipino! Love you all from the bottom of my heart!”

Three decades after that Sun City coronation night, Ruffa Gutierrez continues to embody the spirit of a queen—honoring her past, embracing her present, and stepping boldly toward a future she continues to build with passion and purpose.
