From aspiring singers who joined amateur singing competitions to being Idol Kids Philippines judges, Regine Velasquez and Angelina Quinto find the transition a great hurdle.
“Sa totoo lang, medyo nagdadalawang-isip ako na tumanggap ng trabaho na ganito kasi nanggaling ako ng singing contests. Parang hindi ko kaya na magsabi ng no sa mga contestants, lalo na ngayon na mga bata (In reality, I have second thoughts in accepting jobs like this because I came from singing contests. It’s like I can’t say no to the contestants, much more to kids),” Quinto explained.
“Being a mom, it’s hard to balance being a judge and trying to correct them and also trying to be sensitive because they are not your kids. You need to kind of balance it,” Velasquez said.
Velasquez realized that kids don’t really listen much “not because they wanna hurt you” but because “their span of attention is short.”
“But they absorb. When they hear an information, they don’t know. what to do with that information so I feel like they just absorb it and put it somewhere in their brain. That what we need to balance,” she added.
The other two Idol Kids Philippines judges are Gary Valenciano and Juan Karlos. The show to premiere starting 28 June and 29 June is hosted by Jolina Magdangal and Robi Domingo with Shanaia Gomez and Emilio Daez as Idol Kids Spotlight hosts.
Anjo Yllana reveals past romance with Kris Aquino
With bated breath, comedian-host Anjo Yllana revealed a secret long kept at bay — that he and Kris Aquino were in a relationship in the past.
Yllana’s revelation came in his recent interview with Snooky Serna on her online show’s Pick A Name segment where the name of the Queen of Talk was flashed.
“Na-link kayo romantically for a while (You were romantically linked for a while),” Serna told Yllana.
“We had one or two movies tapos naging kami for a while. Ngayon ko lang ikukuwento ito tutal matagal na ‘to,” greeting Aquino after and revealing that he was godfather to her son, Joshua (We had one or two movies and then we became a couple for a while. I will just be sharing this now after all this has long been over),” Yllana said.
“’Wag sanang magalit si Kris. Noong medyo kami pa... Ano lang kami ni Kris, parang three weeks (I hope Kris doesn’t get mad. While we were on...it’s just like three weeks only),” he shared.
Yllana explained why his relationship with Aquino was ephemeral.
“Nag-break kami ni Kris kasi minsan dumalaw ako sa kanya. Nagdala ako ng flowers. ‘Yung flowers ko, parang galing Baguio (Kris and I broke up because I visited her once. I brought some flowers. My flowers came from Baguio),” the comedian recalled.
But he noticed that Aquino had long-stemmed roses which look like it came abroad.
“Sabi ko, ‘kanino galing ‘yang mga roses na ‘yan?’ (I said, “From whom were those roses?’) ‘It came from Robin.’ ‘Nanliligaw ba sa ‘yo si Robin?’ (‘Is Robin courting you?’) ‘Oh, he’s my boyfriend.’ ‘Ha? Boyfriend mo si Robin, boyfriend mo rin ako?’ (Ha? Robin is your boyfriend and I’m your boyfriend, too?’) ‘Yeah, including Aga (Muhlach).’
With that, Yllana decided to cut his romantic ties with Aquino.
