Barbra Streisand is once again reminding the world why she’s a timeless force in music. With a voice that has shaped generations and a presence that continues to inspire artists across genres, Streisand returns to the studio with "The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two" — a new duets album that bridges decades, genres, and generations in a soul-stirring celebration of collaboration.
“I’ve always loved singing duets with gifted artists,” Streisand shared. “They inspire me in unique and different ways…and make our time in the studio a joy!”
Following the success of her 2014 album Partners, this sequel is more than just a musical gathering — it’s a curated showcase of artistry, respect, and emotional storytelling. Whether trading verses with legends or harmonizing with today’s brightest stars, Streisand crafts each track as an intimate conversation set to music.
The album’s eclectic lineup reads like a dream festival bill: Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, and James Taylor bring the wisdom and texture of songwriting royalty. Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, and Laufey offer a contemporary edge — each bringing tender vulnerability and vocal elegance.
Seal and Josh Groban’s rich timbres blend seamlessly with Streisand’s iconic voice, while Mariah Carey adds her signature sparkle. Even country gets its moment with Tim McGraw joining in, and Sting and Hozier lend haunting, soulful gravitas.
"The Secret of Life" isn’t just a title — it’s a throughline. It pulses through the melodies and lingers in the lyrics of each duet. “I admire all of them,” Streisand added.
“And I hope that you’ll enjoy listening to our collaborations as much as I enjoyed recording with all of my wonderful partners.”
With every track, the album explores themes of love, memory, resilience, and joy — delivered with the emotional intelligence only Streisand can provide. More than a duet album, it’s a testament to connection: across voices, styles, and eras.
"The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two" is not just an album — it’s an event. A masterclass in collaboration. And yet another reminder that Barbra Streisand is, and always will be, in a class all her own.
The album drops 27 June.
