2 found dead in suspected Laguna hit-and-run
Police investigate fatal highway incident in Lumban; vehicle involved remains unidentified
LUMBAN, Laguna — Two individuals were found dead along the National Highway in Barangay Lewin, Lumban, Laguna, early Thursday, 5 November, in what police initially described as a suspected hit-and-run incident.
According to the Lumban Municipal Police Station, the victims were discovered around 4:30 a.m. with severe crushing injuries.
Police received a telephone report from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office at approximately 5:10 a.m., prompting responding officers to proceed to the scene.
Initial investigation indicated that one of the victims had been traveling along the highway toward Lumban before the incident.
However, investigators have yet to determine the exact circumstances of the collision or establish whether another vehicle was involved.The police report indicated that a victim’s remains were brought to Samonte Funeral Homes.
Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the deceased.
Further investigation and crime scene examination are underway to establish the sequence of events and determine the cause of the fatalities.
