Call Me Mother continues to find a wider audience as it climbs to number one on Netflix Philippines’ top movies chart.

The Jun Robles Lana-directed drama, starring Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, has become the streaming platform’s most-watched film in the country after making its Netflix debut on 27 August. The movie resonated with viewers through its emotional story about motherhood, unconditional love, and the sacrifices parents make for their children.

The acclaimed film previously won four honors at the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal, including Best Actor for Vice Ganda, Best Child Performer for Lucas Andalio, Third Best Picture, and the Gender Sensitivity Award. It also earned the Silver Award for Best Feature Film or Telemovie Made in Asia at the ContentAsia Awards 2026, grossed P392 million worldwide, and served as the opening film of the Philippines-Japan Film Festival 2026.

In Call Me Mother, Vice Ganda portrays a queer parent raising her adoptive son, Angelo (Lucas Andalio). Their close relationship is challenged when Angelo’s biological mother, Mara (Nadine Lustre), reenters their lives and seeks custody of the child.
