Police seized a total of 145.28 grams of suspected shabu worth P983,864 in three separate anti-illegal drug operations in Pangasinan on August 19, including a search warrant implementation in Urdaneta City and buy-bust operations in Mabini, Balungao, San Quintin and Calasiao.
The biggest haul came from Calasiao, where a 46-year-old unemployed man from Mangaldan was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted at around 9:21 p.m.
Police said the operation resulted in the recovery of eight heat-sealed transparent sachets containing a total of 116.57 grams of suspected shabu valued at P792,676.
Authorities also seized a genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money, boodle money, a white pouch, a gray Yamaha NMAX motorcycle and a blue Evo helmet.
In Urdaneta City, police implemented a search warrant against a married male resident at around 7:55 a.m., resulting in his arrest and the recovery of 28 grams of suspected shabu worth P190,400.
The suspected drugs were contained in a knot-tied transparent plastic and were recovered along with a small black eco bag used as a container.
The operation was led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 1, with support from the Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Intelligence Unit 1, Police Regional Office 1, PDEA Pangasinan, Pangasinan Police Intelligence Unit, Pangasinan Police Drug Enforcement Unit and Urdaneta City Police Station.
Meanwhile, in Mabini, a 46-year-old unemployed man was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted at around 2:25 p.m.
Police recovered two heat-sealed transparent sachets containing 0.24 gram of suspected shabu valued at P1,632.
A genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money, an Oppo cellphone, a lighter and a blue Kawasaki Wind 125 motorcycle were also seized.
In Balungao, a 34-year-old unemployed man was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted at around 4:30 p.m.
The operation yielded one heat-sealed sachet containing 0.17 gram of suspected shabu valued at P1,156, along with P100 in buy-bust money and P1,000 in boodle money.
In San Quintin, police also arrested a 28-year-old farmer from Tayug in a buy-bust operation conducted at around 5:10 p.m.
The operation resulted in the recovery of two heat-sealed sachets containing 0.3 gram of suspected shabu worth P2,040. Police also seized buy-bust and boodle money, a Vivo cellphone and a Kawasaki Barako 175 motorcycle.
The suspects are expected to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
