The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has directed the producers and partner networks of It’s Showtime to adopt tighter compliance measures following a formal hearing over concerns stemming from the program’s July 24, 2026 broadcast.

Representatives and legal counsels from It’s Showtime, ABS-CBN Corporation, GMA Network Inc., Zoe Broadcasting Network Inc., and ALLTV appeared before the agency’s Hearing and Adjudication Committee, where they were given the opportunity to explain their respective positions as part of the Board’s due process.

Following the proceedings, the Committee instructed all respondents to submit a verified joint position paper within seven calendar days. They were also ordered to prepare a joint undertaking detailing concrete steps that will help ensure future broadcasts comply with MTRCB regulations, particularly during live, unscripted and comedy segments where spontaneous exchanges may occur.

Among the key directives was the requirement to designate an On-Air Compliance Officer who will have the authority to monitor live telecasts and immediately step in whenever necessary to prevent possible violations of broadcast standards.

The Board emphasized that the move forms part of its continuing mandate under Presidential Decree No. 1986 and its implementing rules to uphold responsible television programming while balancing due process for all parties involved.

MTRCB also reiterated its commitment to protecting young Filipino audiences, encouraging responsible viewing, and remaining responsive to public concerns as it continues to oversee broadcast content across the country’s television networks.
