Top guns of the Partido Demokratiko Filipino (PDP) will attend its national assembly today in Davao City.

“Party bigwigs are expected to grace the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino National Assembly to be held the whole day tomorrow at the Area Athletics in Barangay Matina Crossing, Matina, Davao City,” the party said in a statement.

Confirmed to attend include Senators Christopher Lawrence Go and Robin Padilla, PDP president Sebastian Duterte, former Energy Secretary and PDP chair Alfonso Cusi, and national officers Wendel Avisado, former Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, Attys. Aimee Torrefranca-Neri, Raul Lambino, Jimmy Bondoc, Ferdinand Topacio, Yvette Contacto, Jayvee Hinlo and other key officials. Other important party officials have been invited, including Rep. Shirley Nograles of General Santos City lone congressional district and Governors Pamela Baricuatro (Cebu), Melecio Go (Marinduque), Angelica Amante (Agusan del Norte) and Humerlito Dolor (Oriental Mindoro).

Barzaga makes appearance

New PDP recruit Rep. Kiko Barzaga is also expected to grace the events, as well as prominent guests such as Batangas first district representative Leandro Leviste, Inday Sara Duterte Advocacy national president and television host Jaina Marie Sampang and businessman Barton Sy.

It said the assembly will be tackling important measures such as certain amendments to the party constitution, election of new national officials, reports of various committees and, most importantly, the formulation of a policy designed to combat massive corruption in government, including trillion-peso plus flood control scandal.
