Former Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman is redefining beauty by choosing authenticity over perfection, opening up about her decision to embrace her naturally white hair after years of trying to conceal it.

In a heartfelt social media post, the beauty queen and television personality shared a deeply personal reflection on aging, revealing that she is finally letting go of the pressure to appear forever youthful and instead celebrating the story written in every silver strand.

Quigaman disclosed that her journey with white hair began much earlier than most people would expect.

“The first time I saw a white hair on my head, I was 12 years old,” she shared, explaining that premature graying runs in their family. She revealed that her father already had nearly a full head of white hair in his 30s, and that she and her siblings inherited the same genetic trait.

For years, Quigaman admitted she regularly dyed her hair—sometimes every two weeks—to hide the grays. But after decades of trying to meet society’s standards of beauty, she has decided to stop chasing perfection.

“I’m finally letting go of ‘perfection’ and embracing my God-given white hair that comes not just with age, but with genetics too,” she wrote.

The former international titleholder acknowledged that making the transition has not been easy. She confessed that there are still moments when she looks in the mirror and feels tempted to cover up the white strands again. Still, she believes accepting herself is a journey worth taking.

“So call me lola or grandma, it’s okay… I’m going to try and rock this white hair,” she said with confidence and humor.

Beyond her appearance, Quigaman reflected on the emotional weight she carried for many years, saying she was tired of hiding and pretending.

“Ilang taon ko tinago, tiniis, tinakpan… and I’m done. Pagod na ako. Ayoko na,” she candidly wrote.

She explained that sharing her story publicly is also an act of accountability and courage, hoping it will strengthen her resolve to fully embrace this new chapter.

“That’s why I’m posting this now… to give myself courage.”
