More than 2,000 runners and their dogs took part in the Vermosa Green Run 5.0 at Vermosa Estates in Imus, Cavite, combining fitness with environmental conservation.
The event featured 21K, 10K, 5K, 3K, and 1K Dog Run categories, drawing elite athletes, recreational runners, running clubs, and members of the media.
As part of its sustainability campaign, participants donated used plastic bottles that will be upcycled into eco-bricks for Ayala Land projects. The event's singlets, finisher shirts, and dog bandanas were also made from recycled PET bottles.
Organizers said the initiative aims to encourage environmentally responsible lifestyles while promoting health and wellness.
The event also partnered with the Haribon Foundation, with corporate and group registrations supporting native tree planting and forest restoration through the organization's Forests for Life Movement.
Beneficiaries of this year's run include the Haribon Foundation, Takbo Kabitenyo, and the Pawssion Project, supporting environmental conservation, youth sports development, and animal welfare.
