  • Nananatiling nangunguna ang Pilipinas bilang pangunahing tagapagsuplay ng mga seafarer sa buong mundo, ayon sa 2026 Seafarer Workforce Report ng Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) at International Chamber of Shipping (ICS).

    Batay sa nasabing ulat, umabot sa 2.5 milyon ang kabuuang bilang ng mga seafarer sa buong mundo ngayong taon. Ayon naman sa Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), mahigit 203,000 opisyal at halos 257,000 ratings ang nagmumula sa Pilipinas—mas mataas kumpara sa India, China, Russia, at Indonesia.

    Nangunguna rin ang mga Pilipino sa bilang ng mga STCW-certified seafarer na nagsisilbi sa mga merchant ship sa iba't ibang panig ng mundo.

    Ayon sa MARINA, patuloy nitong pinapalakas ang maritime education, training, assessment, at certification upang matiyak na nananatiling mahusay, globally competitive, at sumusunod sa mga pandaigdigang pamantayan ang mga Pilipinong seafarer.
