A reunion he’s hoping for: Boy Abunda on working again with Kris Aquino

A simple visit turned into a hopeful glimpse of the future for television host Boy Abunda.

After spending time with his longtime friend Kris Aquino on Valentine’s Day, the “King of Talk” shared both relief and excitement — relief over her improving condition, and excitement over the possibility of sharing the screen with her again.

“Last 14 February in the afternoon, binisita ko ang aking kaibigang si Kris Aquino. She’s getting better," he said.

"At sana, tuluy-tuloy. I continue to pray. She has gained some weight, at palagay ko, exciting things are going to happen this year… Kung bibilangin talaga, mas matanda pa ang aming television careers (ni Kris) kaysa kay Josh. We’ve been doing this for 30 years. And really I don’t know, there is this thing in me that’s looking forward to doing a talk show with her. I don’t know if it’s going to be in the form of a podcast, an online thing or a television thing but hindi ko (pa) alam," he added.

For Abunda, the possibility isn’t about format yet — it’s about timing. After decades of shared history on Philippine television, the idea of sitting beside Aquino once more feels less like a project and more like coming home.

Whether on digital platforms or traditional TV, one thing is clear: he’s ready when she is.
