After more than a decade together, Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles are finally walking down the aisle.

The celebrity couple confirmed that their long-awaited wedding is set for March, sharing the news during a media conference for their upcoming film under Viva Films, the Filipino adaptation of the Korean hit Wonderful Nightmare.

Following their engagement in August 2024, Molina and Napoles said there is now “no turning back” when it comes to their wedding plans, although they have chosen to keep most details private.

“Ako po ang nag-decide nito. Tinanong din ako ni Jerald. Nu’ng kasing proposal ni Je, nagulat ako dahil naunang nalaman ng mga tao bago ko i-post kasi na-post agad yung full speech ni Jerald.

“So I think itong wedding na ito, sa amin na po muna siya. But of course, ise-share po naman namin on the day,” Molina said.

She also confirmed that her wedding gown will be designed by renowned fashion designer Mak Tumang, who previously created iconic gowns for Catriona Gray and Ahtisa Manalo.

Molina said the couple decided to wait until 2026 to tie the knot to save for their dream destination wedding.

A film that mirrors life

Beyond their wedding plans, Molina and Napoles are also preparing for the release of Wonderful Nightmare, directed by RC Delos Reyes.

The film follows the story of Atty. Ma. Luisa “Lui” Manuel, a tough and emotionally guarded lawyer who, after a tragic accident, wakes up living as a housewife and mother for one month. In this unfamiliar life, she becomes the wife of Julian, played by Napoles, and the mother of Jaja and Justin, discovering love, sacrifice, and family along the way.

The cast also includes Yumi Lacsamana, Candy Pangilinan, Quinn Carrillo, Divine Aucina, Al Tantay, Krissha Viaje, and Jaycee Parker.

The film is scheduled for theatrical release on February 25.

'Sobrang emotionally, physically, sabay-sabay'

For Molina, Wonderful Nightmare became one of her most challenging projects, as it coincided with personal losses in her life.

“Films naman, kasama si Jhe or ako lang mag-isa, it’s all special kasi iba-iba yung mga pinagdaanan,” Molina said. “But with this movie, sobrang emotionally, physically, sabay-sabay. While I was shooting this, may mga personal na nangyari sa life ko may mga nawala na importanteng tao sa buhay ko, kahit yung aso ko.”

She admitted that balancing grief and performance was not easy.

“Habang ginagawa ko yung dalawang characters ng Wonderful Nightmare, sobrang bigat ng emotion na kinakailangan,” she said. “May time na nag-shoot ako na kinailangan akong yakapin at i-direct kasi hindi ko ma-stop. I had to prepare myself emotionally and also know when to stop, yun yung difference nito sa ibang projects.”

“More like a preamble than preparation”

For Napoles, portraying a husband and father on screen felt like a glimpse of his future with Molina.

“Medyo, medyo,” Napoles said, laughing. “Yung pinaka-training sa pelikula, yung dalawang anak namin dito. Sa totoong buhay wala pa kaming baby, may mga aso pa lang. Pero parang na-portray mo yung nakikita mo sa mga magulang mo dati.”

“Kapag may setup na bahay, kwarto, mga chikiting, parang, ah, ganito pala ‘yun. It’s more like a preamble than preparation,” he added.

Adding to the film’s personal meaning, Molina revealed that some scenes were shot in a place significant to their relationship.

“Somewhere in the Philippines,” she said. “Isang lugar na sobrang importante sa amin ni Jhe kasi doon kami nag-date ng una na matagal. Mag-research ang fans may mga bagay akong hindi pinopost.”

As Molina and Napoles prepare for both married life and the release of Wonderful Nightmare, the couple finds themselves at a rare intersection of love, career, and personal growth, with art and life continuing to move forward hand in hand.
