Senator Christopher “Bong” Go provided assistance to residents affected by a fire in Barangay Milagrosa, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, on Saturday, 13 December.

Go met with families impacted by the incident and discussed ongoing support for communities affected by disasters.

During the visit, he cited Republic Act No. 12076, the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of permanent, safe, and fully equipped evacuation centers in all cities and municipalities nationwide. He emphasized the importance of implementing these centers as part of disaster preparedness efforts.

Go also referenced Republic Act No. 11589, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Modernization Act, which outlines a ten-year program to expand personnel, acquire updated firefighting equipment, and enhance training to improve fire prevention and response.
