Cebu Pacific’s first wide-body Airbus A33neo made its maiden landing in Palawan on Sunday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

Flight 5J 637 from Manila touched down at Puerto Princesa International Airport Sunday morning and returned to Manila the same day. CAAP said the flight will operate four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

The aviation authority said the A33neo’s arrival demonstrates the airport’s readiness to handle larger aircraft and reflects growth in Palawan’s air travel market. It also highlights the progress of regional airports in safety and operational standards.

CAAP emphasized that efforts continue to upgrade airport facilities and expand runway and terminal capacities to accommodate larger aircraft.

The Airbus A33neo is known for its lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions, offering more efficient operations for airlines.
