The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Sunday confirmed the arrival of former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
According to the BI, Bonoan arrived Sunday morning aboard China Airlines flight CI0701 from Taipei.
The former DPWH chief was placed under a BI Lookout Bulletin Order (LBO) upon the instruction of the Department of Justice, in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
An LBO alerts authorities to the movements of individuals linked to active probes but does not bar entry or exit.
Immigration records showed that Bonoan left the Philippines last year after traveling to the United States with his wife for a medical procedure. He arrived in Manila without a companion.
