Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon is advocating for hospital reforms in the city that emphasize humane and compassionate service beyond just medical procedures.

On his social media account, Biazon shared photos from the recent Patient Experience Summit of Metro Pacific Health, where he was invited to deliver the opening remarks on the second day of the event.

He quoted American poet Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”

“This quote captures the very heart of patient experience. I shared this during my welcome remarks at the Patient Experience Summit hosted by Metro Pacific Health,” he said.

(Because in fact, healing goes beyond medical procedures. A big part of it is the respect, compassion, and treatment we give to patients.)

Biazon also shared that the same goal is already being pursued in Muntinlupa City, pushing for a healthcare system rooted in genuine community service.

(In Muntinlupa, this is also the direction of our reforms in the Muntinlupa Hospital. We know there is still much to be done, but we have already started building a healthcare system that is more humane, more organized, and more compassionate.)
