CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Authorities reported that a key figure in the brutal murder of the online selling couple has been arrested in San Isidro, Nueva Ecija.
According to reports from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), the suspect — identified as Almario Miranda — was apprehended Saturday morning during a raid conducted by the San Isidro Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).
The arrest was made pursuant to a search warrant issued by Hon. Quijano S. Laure, Executive Judge of the RTC Gapan City, on 28 November 2024 for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
During the raid, authorities seized a .9mm pistol with a magazine containing five bullets from Miranda’s possession.
Miranda is believed to be a member of a gun-for-hire group and a middleman in the killing of Arvin and Lerma Lulu, who were online sellers.
PRO3 director PBGen Redrico Maranan lauded the successful operation, stating it demonstrates the police force’s dedication to bringing justice to victims of crime.
He also stressed that the arrest is a significant step towards holding all those responsible for the Lulu couple’s murder accountable.
The suspect and the confiscated evidence are currently in the custody of the San Isidro MPS, pending further investigation and possible filing of additional charges.
Maranan urged the public to continue cooperating with authorities to combat crime and ensure community safety.
