American TV host-comedian Chelsea Handler took a jab at her ex-boyfriend, Jo Koy, during her monologue at the Critics Choice Awards last Sunday.
"Thank you for laughing at that. My writers wrote it," she said, referencing Jo Koy's defensive comments at last week's Golden Globes where the Fil-Am stand-up comedian was the host.
"Now this is how you acknowledge your gifted writers!" Fellow stand-up comedian Rex Navarette chimed in on social media.
In an LA Times interview following the incident, Jo Koy explained his side. "I love my writers. I love all three of them and I shouted them out. And I told them like that was a moment right there where I'm just grasping," he said.
To recall, Jo Koy was also accused of throwing his writers under the bus during his Golden Globe monologue after several of his jokes fell flat.
"Some I wrote, some other people wrote," he told the audience.
"Yes, I got the gig 10 days ago! You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up! You're kidding me, right? Slow down, I wrote some of these and they are the ones you are laughing at," he added.
