SAN MATEO, Rizal — Four suspected drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Barangay Silangan following a complaint from a concerned netizen about alleged illegal drug activities in the community.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) reported Thursday, 5 November, that personnel of the San Mateo Municipal Police Station conducted two buy-bust operations from late Wednesday night until early Thursday morning.

The first operation took place around 11:30 p.m. on 4 November along Buntong Palay, Barangay Silangan, where police arrested a 34-year-old suspect identified only as alias “Pusa.”

Authorities confiscated approximately 0.58 grams of suspected shabu valued at P3,944 and P200 in marked buy-bust money.

Hours later, another operation at a residence in the same area resulted in the arrest of three suspects identified as aliases “Ape,” “Baste,” and “Digoy.”

Police recovered approximately 8.22 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves worth P986.40, two glass tubes containing suspected marijuana residue, a disposable lighter, a coin purse, and P200 in buy-bust money.

The operations were conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), with police personnel using alternative recording devices to document the arrests.

According to the Rizal PPO, the operations followed a resident's complaint about suspected drug selling and use that had raised safety concerns in the neighborhood.

The four suspects remain in police custody while authorities prepare charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The Rizal PPO urged residents to continue reporting suspected illegal activities to help authorities maintain peace and security in their communities.
