Teacher Georcelle: Dance has no age limit

Teacher Georcelle says this year’s G-Force choreography competition is breaking barriers by pairing celebrity choreographers with students of all ages, proving that dance has no limits.

TEACHER Georcelle says G-Force’s choreography competition continues to champion its belief that dance is for everyone, bringing together participants from different generations on one stage.

Teacher Georcelle believes dance goes beyond talent and competition, saying it is for everyone.

The renowned choreographer said this year’s edition of G-Force’s choreography competition reflects the dance group’s long-standing belief that anyone, regardless of age, deserves a place on the dance floor.

The competition, first launched in 2023, began as a friendly rivalry among G-Force’s celebrity choreographers after working together on dance concerts.

“This competition we started in 2023. Competition is a baby of our G-Force project. You know, all the choreographers, the celebrity choreographers, every time we do a dance concert, they’re really being competitive,” Georcelle shared.

“And then we started that idea, which is having eight choreographers competing.”

This year, however, the format has evolved. Instead of competing alone, the celebrity choreographers are now working alongside students enrolled in G-Force’s training program.

“What’s special about this year, they are collaborating. The celebrity choreographers are collaborating with the students who are part of the training program. And we call them the training leads for this, for this Collab 2.0,” she said.

Georcelle said the collaboration makes the competition unlike any other, bringing together participants from different generations under one stage.

“Where else can you see a competition? This is very unique,” she said.

She pointed to last year’s participants as proof that dance knows no age.

“A five-year-old student is competing with... I don’t want to say a number — but last year... we had a 72-year-old student who competed, and a 65-year-old student,” she recalled.

The competition embodies G-Force Dance Center’s core philosophy, Georcelle added.

“This is really, from the philosophy of G-Force Dance Center, that dance is for all. Dance for all, that’s what it’s all about.”

Team Arriza emerged as the top winner of The Competition 2026: Collab 2.0, with trainee Jhanie leading the group to the Grand Champion title and a P150,000 cash prize.
