An 18-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, on Sunday evening, 14 September 2026, authorities said.

The operation, conducted at about 6:42 p.m., was led by the Burgos Police Station in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Region 1, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office, 1st Ilocos Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, and MARPSTA.

Police identified the suspect only as an 18-year-old, single and unemployed resident of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.

Authorities said they recovered about one gram of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P6,800, contained in three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets. The seized items included sachets allegedly sold to an undercover operative and those recovered from the suspect.

Also confiscated were a black belt bag, one P1,000 bill believed to be marked money, and a caliber .38 revolver loaded with two live rounds of ammunition.

The marking and inventory of the seized evidence were documented in the presence of required insulating witnesses, police said.

The suspect and the confiscated items were brought to the Burgos Police Station for documentation and proper disposition. 

He faces allegations of violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
