Joint operatives seized approximately six kilograms of suspected shabu worth P40.8 million and arrested three suspected drug personalities during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Sitio Dulong Bangiad, Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal on 14 September 2026.
The arrested suspects were identified as a 31-year-old man, a 32-year-old woman, and a 43-year-old man, all residents of Sitio Dulong Bangiad.
Authorities also recovered assorted firearms and other non-drug evidence during the operation. Another suspect reportedly remains at large and is being pursued by authorities.
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Spokesperson Commodore Noemie Cayabyab said PCG personnel secured identified waterways and possible waterborne escape routes in the area to prevent the target personalities from escaping and to support the safe conduct of the operation.
The arrested suspects are facing charges for alleged violation of Section 5, in relation to Section 26, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The recovered firearms will undergo verification and appropriate investigation under existing laws and procedures, including Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office IV-A through its Rizal Provincial Office, with operational support from the PCG through Coast Guard Station Rizal.
PDEA is handling the documentation, custody, processing and disposition of the arrested suspects and seized evidence.
