After years of dealing with multiple autoimmune diseases, Kris Aquino has made her return to the spotlight with a new appearance on Netflix, marking her first on-screen project since stepping away from the entertainment industry.
On 7 August, the streaming platform released a skit featuring the veteran host and actress, introducing her as the "Chief Head of Insight and Kontent Analysis" or C.H.I.K.A.
The more than two-minute video shows Aquino working with an editor named Earljohn, offering suggestions and directing changes to scenes from three television dramas available on the platform.
The clip marks Aquino's first on-screen appearance after taking a break from show business to focus on her health.
Aquino has spent the past several years undergoing treatment in the United States and the Philippines for multiple autoimmune diseases.
She has publicly shared diagnoses including chronic spontaneous urticaria, autoimmune thyroid disease, eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), and systemic sclerosis, among other conditions that have affected her immune system.
