Actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista, exasperated by claims that she faked her illness, clapped back at bashers for spreading lies about her recent hospitalization.
In a short TikTok reel, Evangelista said while choosing items to purchase at a chic luxury brand store: “Muntik na ’ko mamatay kaya deserve ko ’to. Pinagtrabahuhan ko ’to, mga lintik kayo (I nearly died, which is why I deserve this. I worked hard for this, you fools).”
Evangelista, to set the record straight and correct fake news peddlers, was indeed hospitalized. This was backed up by videos and photos shared with us by GMA PR writer Rommel Gonzales, who said she had prior commitments before her hospitalization.
Evangelista attended Paris Fashion Week after her health scare when she was given the go signal to travel by her doctor. She was rushed to the hospital last month after feeling unwell. In her social media post, she hinted that she had a slight problem with her kidneys.
“I don’t like romanticizing certain situations, but it was one of my hardest wake-up calls. Health is wealth. Don’t work for the approval of others. Work for yourself. I am so done giving 200 percent just to please the ones who never liked you to begin with. I will work to make me happy and for my own personal purpose,” Evangelista said in a post.
What she learned from her recent health journey is this: “Don’t work for the approval of others. Work for yourself.”
Evangelista attended Paris Haute Couture Week Fall/Winter 2026–2027, which ran from 6 to 9 July. She also shared a reel of her fitting session for Chanel with the caption: “YOLO (You Only Live Once).”
Before Haute Couture Week in Paris, the fashion icon was invited to attend Paris Men’s Fashion Week but was unable to do so. Prior to her hospitalization, Evangelista graced Max Mara’s 75th anniversary celebration in Shanghai, China.
Anjo Yllana to appeal court ruling
Anjo Yllana is poised to appeal the court’s decision ordering him to pay P3.5 million in damages in the case filed against him by TVJ.
Yllana admitted that he is in a quandary over where he would get the amount the court ordered him to pay.
He also described the verdict as “harsh.”
“Para sa akin, very harsh o mabigat yung parusa sa akin na P3.5 million (For me, the P3.5 million penalty imposed on me is very harsh or heavy),” he said in an exclusive interview with Ogie Diaz, adding that he did not kill anyone, steal from anyone, or curse anyone.
In the end, he hinted that, given the circumstances, he and his legal team would appeal the ruling in court.
