The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) expanded its recognition of excellence in media by staging the inaugural FAMAS Broadcast Arts Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements in television, radio, podcasts, and digital platforms during a ceremony held at The Manila Hotel on July 20.

Among the evening’s biggest winners was Vice Ganda, who earned the Best Host for Entertainment trophy for leading the long-running noontime program It’s Showtime. The ABS-CBN favorite also celebrated another victory as It’s Showtime was named Best Variety Show, underscoring the program’s enduring popularity.

Action star Coco Martin also enjoyed a banner night as FPJ’s Batang Quiapo dominated the awards. Martin was recognized as both Best Director and Best Screenwriter for a series or anthology, while the primetime drama was crowned Best Series. The show’s winning streak continued with acclaimed filmmaker Joel Lamangan receiving Best Supporting Performer honors for his memorable portrayal of Roda.

Digital creator and actress Ivana Alawi likewise emerged as one of the standout winners, taking home Best Public Service Show and sharing the Best Host for Public Service award with veteran broadcast journalist Kara David.

The awards also recognized excellence across different genres and platforms, honoring achievements in news, documentaries, radio, podcasts, lifestyle programming, and educational content.
