  • Actress and public servant Aiko Melendez shared a positive update on her health, saying she is staying optimistic after undergoing a series of tests for her thyroid condition.

In a Facebook post, Melendez revealed that she recently completed a thyroid biopsy and has now proceeded with a thyroid scan as part of her ongoing medical evaluation.

“I’m grateful because based on Dr. Allan’s initial assessment, my thyroid nodules appear to be benign. While that’s very reassuring, I’m still praying that the official biopsy results will confirm that everything is indeed okay,” she wrote.

Melendez also clarified why she still needed a thyroid scan after the biopsy, explaining that the two procedures serve different purposes.

“A biopsy examines the cells from the thyroid nodules to determine whether they are benign or malignant. A thyroid scan… shows how the thyroid gland and the nodules are functioning,” she explained, adding that the test is especially important because she has been living with hypothyroidism.

Reflecting on the experience, the actress encouraged others to be proactive about their health.

“This journey has taught me to never ignore what our bodies are trying to tell us. Early detection, regular check-ups, and trusting your medical team truly make all the difference,” she said.

Melendez also expressed gratitude to everyone who has been praying for her and sending words of encouragement, saying she continues to rely on her faith throughout the process.

“I continue to place everything in God’s hands, trusting that He is guiding every doctor, every procedure, and every step of my healing,” she wrote.

She also thanked the medical staff at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City for assisting her during her tests and shared how grateful she was that her health card covered the procedures.

“Getting sick is really expensive. So take care of our health,” Melendez reminded her followers.
