Kathryn Bernardo has reached another career milestone after becoming the latest Filipino celebrity to be immortalized at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, where her lifelike wax figure now stands alongside some of the world’s most recognizable personalities.
The figure recreates the actress’ sophisticated look at the 2023 Seoul International Drama Awards, where she received the Outstanding Asian Star award, celebrating one of the defining moments of her career.
Reflecting on the recognition, Bernardo said she feels honored to join a select group of Filipinos whose achievements have earned them a place in the world-renowned museum.
“I’m just very humble to be there alongside these icons. Of course, Manny Pacquiao. Nakakatuwa kasi iba-iba ang field namin. We also have Pia and Catriona, Ms. Lea Salonga, Ms. Anne Curtis, and now I think I’m the youngest again. Nakakatuwa.” she said.
With the unveiling, Bernardo joins boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, Miss Universe winners Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, Broadway star Lea Salonga, and actress-host Anne Curtis in Madame Tussauds’ collection of celebrated Filipino figures.
The occasion was equally meaningful for Bernardo’s mother, Min, who became emotional upon seeing the striking resemblance of the wax figure to her daughter.
“Kamukhang-kamukha niya. Thank you to Madame Tussauds for considering my daughter. Napakaswerte. It’s another milestone for her career and also sa aming family.”
The wax figure is now on permanent display at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, giving fans from around the world a chance to celebrate Bernardo’s achievements and her growing influence on the international stage.
